            CLEANING TAKES TIME

by Eileen Simmons

You’ve started eating right. So why don’t you feel better immediately?

Think of your body as a house. When you’re cleaning, it’s messy. You have piles of stuff to be discarded; piles to sort out and put back; you’re cleaning and scrubbing and out of all that chaos comes a clean house.

As you improve your diet, your body is sorting out and throwing away. You’re not going to feel your best during this process, but like your house, your body will be cleaner and healthier when it’s finished.

As you eat higher quality food — food closest to its natural state — your body begins to eliminate the toxins that have accumulated on your lower quality diet. Not feeling well is part of the body’s healing.  Don’t take over-the-counter medicine or even mega doses of vitamins.  Let your body heal itself. Watch for these symptoms:

  • Headaches

  • Fever and colds

  • Short period of constipation

  • Occasional diarrhea

  • Tiredness and weakness

  • Not wanting to exercise

  • Nervousness, irritability, negativity, depression

  • Frequent urination
