FAQ'sF. Selecting a TestQ: How
do I know which tests I need? A: This answer assumes you have already decided which
division of our company you want to test with (I.e. HealthPrint, Test Only, Omega 3 Profile +). The most
popular option is to start with either a Basic HealthPrint or Test Only Wellness Panel. This will provide you with a very thorough
overview of most of your bodys systems. 80%
of our clients then customize their basic panel of tests by adding additional tests to the
basic panel. How do they decide which tests
to add? For
starters, they read about those tests on our website and/or in our free information
packet. They also use the Symptoms, Illnesses, and Diseases page in the
Our Services section of our website. This
list identifies which tests are important for various symptoms and diseases. If you see a symptom on that list that you are
already dealing with or one you are concerned about (because of something you read or your
family history) then that would be a good test for you to add. Even if your
family history and symptoms do not indicate a need for a specific test, it is always good
to have a benchmark score to act as a baseline should symptoms develop later in life. Finally, if
you are still not sure or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to call us
toll-free and one of our customer service reps will be happy to assist you. Q: I
am not sure which option I should choose: HealthPrint
or Test Only? A: The questions to consider when deciding between
HealthPrint and Test Only are: How comprehensive do I want my results to be? (HealthPrint
is the most comprehensive. It contains tests
not included in Test Only.) Do I want
customized nutrition analysis? (HealthPrint pricing includes a customized nutrition
interpretation.) For more detailed
information on this question, please visit the Our Services section of our
website and go to the Service Comparison room. Q: If I order a CEA test would I ever still need the
other cancer screens (CA-125 (ovaries), Total PSA or PSA II (prostate), CA-19-9
(pancreas), or CA-15-3 (breast))? A: The organs
covered by the CEA do not include the reproductive system therefore the CA-125, Total PSA,
and PSA II tests could still need to be ordered if you are concerned about your prostate
or ovaries. The CEA test
is very useful for the early detection of many forms of cancer. However, it is not a specific test for any of the
eight organs it screens, but rather a general indicator.
An abnormal CEA result is usually a sign that there is a problem with one of
these organs. In order to pinpoint which
organ is causing the abnormal CEA result more information is needed. The CA15-3 (breast) and CA-19-9 (pancreas) tests
help you know if the abnormal CEA test result might be attributable to the breast or
pancreas. The remaining six organs screened
by the CEA test can be pinpointed by doing a Basic HealthPrint or Test Only Wellness Panel
and a Thyroid Package. |
