FAQ'sH. Blood Draw
Q: Do I need to fast before I have my blood drawn?
A: Yes. Fasting is important because you want to know what
your blood levels are without the recent impact of supplements and/or food. Please see the letter we send you for fasting
specifics.
Q: Where do I go to have my
blood drawn?
A: YFH has a network of over
3000 collection sites across the country. Once
you have registered we will assign you a collection site from this network. Experience shows that we consistently find sites
that are convenient to your home or work. If
your schedule is such that the location of the site(s) weve found for you are not
convenient, please call our office and we will work out an alternative.
Q: How much blood will be taken during my blood draw?
A: This depends on
the tests that you order. If you order just
the Omega 3 Profile + test only one tube will be needed.
If you order a HealthPrint with every extra test we offer five total tubes
will be drawn. If you have special
circumstances and the volume of blood drawn is an issue please let us know so that we can
work with you.
Q: Getting my blood drawn is always difficult. How good are your phlebotomists and is there
anything special you can do to help me have a better experience?
A: Our phlebotomists are excellent. However, we have tested hundreds of difficult sticks over the years. When you register, simply let us know you are a
difficult stick and we will take extra steps to ensure that you have a positive
experience.
Q: I am not able or do not want to go to a collection
site for my blood draw, are there any other options?
A: Yes. Arrangements can be made for an additional fee to have the
phlebotomist come to you at your home or place of business.
Q: What if something happens to my sample (ex. It
gets ruined) and I need to be re-tested? Do
I have to pay again?
A: YFH
guarantees the test results. If something
should happen outside your control, YFH will pay all of the costs associated witht getting
re-tested (shipping a retest kit, the doctor fee, the draw fee, the lab expense and the
cost of re-running the test results). You
will only need to go through the inconvenience of having to go to the collection site
again to repeat the draw. Not to boast,
but
our re-test rate is approximately 1% - well below industry averages.
Q: Ive had my blood drawn before but not with
YFH, can I just take my blood test kit to the collection site that did my last blood draw?
A: No. YFH requires (and pays extra) its collection sites to do a few
steps that most collection sites do not like to do. We
do this to ensure quality and accuracy for you and to result in less blown samples (and
costs) for us. The collection site you went
to the last time you had your blood drawn may or may not be one of our collection sites. Please go to one of the sites we assigned to you
with the blood test kit you receive shortly after you register.
Q: Ive already tested with YFH before. Can I go to the same collection site I used last
time I tested with you?
A: No. Collection site employees change frequently. YFH qualifies centers and their staffs to
ensure your blood draw is done correctly the first time, every time. We dont assume, we verify every time you go
for a draw. If changes have occurred that
cause concern, we will recommend an alternate site. |
