HealthPrint

The 3 Ranges

To understand why HealthPrint is so special, we need to first talk about the three ranges we use and how they are reported:  Normal Ranges, Optimum Ranges, and Personal Normal Levels.

Normal Ranges  (Very common – see Official Lab Results Report)

95% of all blood tests ordered in America are compared to Normal Ranges via an Official Lab Results Report.  If you are within the Normal Range you will most likely be told you are normal.  While being normal is a good thing, it does not necessarily mean you are healthy, as many people incorrectly believe.  Why not?

The problem lies in how Normal Ranges are determined.

Normal Ranges are determined by taking approximately 100 to 200 people who tested recently with a particular lab (yes, they are determined by each individual lab and not a centralized agency).  These people’s results are then averaged – this is the middle of the Normal Range.  The high and low sides of the Normal Range will be two standard deviations from the average.

Unfortunately, 95% of the people’s results used in these calculations are flawed – they were having blood tests run in the first place because they already had a health problem!

Does it make sense to compare your blood test results to averages taken from people who were already experiencing a symptom?  No.  That is why being normal is not good enough!  Normal blood test scores simply mean you are not yet as sick as the other people used to determine the normal range.  This is still a good thing, but it does not mean you are healthy.

To summarize, normal ranges are useful (most of the time) for diagnosing illness and disease.  That is what they were designed to do.  Specifically, they help our medical system focus on the people who need treatment the most and allow the insurance companies to contain their costs.  But, they are very different than the Optimum Ranges used in each HealthPrint.

Optimum Ranges™ (Proprietary to YFH – see Health ScoreCard Report)

If you want to know if you are healthy, you will need to compare your blood test scores to something other than Normal Ranges.  That’s why we developed Optimum Ranges – featured in every HealthPrint.

Optimum Ranges are customized to your unique biochemistry.  Specifically, they are based on your height/weight, age, gender, health history, and other blood test scores (I.e. certain blood test scores are inter-related to other scores).  When you achieve your Optimum Ranges, your body will be operating at the levels that will help you truly be healthy.  Scores outside your unique Optimum Range can be improved by changing your diet, exercise, and supplement plans*.

The HealthPrint service is designed to do just that.  It identifies which tests are outside of your unique Optimum Ranges and then shows you how to optimize them.  It also highlights the health problems that can develop should the score not be improved.

Our clients use HealthPrint (and thus, Optimum Ranges) for a variety of reasons:

  1. To help with specific health problems
  2. To proactively fine-tune health and nutrition plans to continue feeling great (These clients usually have minor or no symptoms and almost always have normal blood test scores.)
  3. To maximize performance, recovery, and total wellness as it pertains to athletics. (These clients are usually athletes or people with consistent exercise programs, but also include business professionals with high-stress positions.)

(These clients are usually athletes, people with consistent exercise programs and business professionals with high-stress positions.)

NOTE-Optimum Ranges are not based on your previous blood test history and can be calculated the first time you test with us.

*Your Future Health (YFH) does not sell any nutritional supplements or food products, and we do not promote certain brands over others.  Our only interest in what foods you eat and supplements you take is that you are healthy as a result!

Personal NormalsŪ (Proprietary to YFH – see Personal Normal Tracker Report)

Your score on a given blood test, if run consistently and accurately over time (click here to learn about our quality and accuracy), will typically vary by only a few points, not throughout the entire normal range.    This phenomenon allows each person to establish benchmarks for themselves on any given blood test.  We call this benchmark a Personal Normal level.  Each person has their own unique Personal Normal for all of the measures we test in their blood.

Once these are established, you can watch for changes from your Personal Normal.  We have found that blood test scores often change before symptoms develop.  Knowing about these changes can empower you to catch illness at its earliest stages.  This is a long-term benefit of doing HealthPrint every year.

Starting with your third HealthPrint, we will include a Personal Normal Tracker Report, which will show your blood test history for every test you have ever done with us.  This report will help you and your health professional to easily see scores that are not normal for you based on your blood test history.

To date, YFH is the only company in America able to offer this potentially life-saving report – we’ll keep track of your blood test history in one secure, private, and confidential location so you can focus on other things like your family and your health.

Lastly, it is important to note that some of our clients have Personal Normals that are within their unique Optimum Range while other clients are willing to accept more risk by having a Personal Normal that is not within their unique Optimum Range.
